Carrie Ballard
Co-Founder & Marketing Director Golden Years Home Care
Carrie Ballard co-founded Golden Years Home Care in 1996 with her husband Ken, bringing a deep understanding of how truly personalized support could make a difference in a senior’s quality of life. With 40+ years of combined experience in senior care, Carrie has been instrumental in shaping the compassionate, family-centered approach that defines Golden Years today.
Growing up helping in family care facilities, Carrie witnessed the profound impact that compassionate, personalized care could have on seniors and their families. She knew early on that this wasn’t just work—this was her calling.
In 1996, Carrie and Ken took a leap of faith with just $5,000 in startup capital to open Golden Years Guest Home, their first state-licensed facility. The early days required resilience and determination as they worked to prove they had what it took to stand on their own. Carrie poured her heart into every aspect of care, treating each resident like family, and something beautiful started to happen.
As Marketing Director, Carrie has been the heart behind Golden Years’ client-focused approach and community relationships. She was instrumental in the pivotal decision to transition from facility-based care to in-home services when she and Ken noticed that seniors consistently wanted to return home after rehabilitation. This insight led to the creation of Golden Years In-Home Senior Care, bringing professional, compassionate care directly to seniors’ doorsteps.
Carrie’s personal touch and commitment to genuine relationships have shaped Golden Years’ marketing philosophy and community presence. She has spent 26+ years (as referenced in video scripts) building trust with Sacramento families and establishing Golden Years as a name families recommend to their friends, neighbors, and loved ones without hesitation.
Today, Carrie continues to personally oversee operations, ensuring that the family-owned, personal approach remains at the core of every client interaction. Her dedication to excellence in caregiving and professionalism has helped Golden Years earn recognition as a 2025 Best of Senior Living provider and become Northern California’s most trusted name in home care.
